Chiller Replacement

AstraZeneca Alma Road Chiller Replacement.

As part of AstraZeneca's commitment to innovation , sustainability and Enviromental stewardship , they are constantly monitoring their equipments performance and economical serviceable lifecycle. With this in mind they approached Critical Air to check the performance of their then current Multistack Chillers and to report on what other alternatives there were that would meet their criteria and provide them with energy savings long term.

After checking and consulting with various manufacturers Critical Air presented Astra with a proposal that recommended the installation of PowerPax chillers. These were chosen because of their innovative technology,design and energy savings for commercial Air Conditioning services solution.

Since the installation of the chiller in 2008 the saving in energy has been approximately 11% year on year.

Being quite different in design to the chiller they were replacing installation provided some challenges which included having to strip the chiller being replaced and to remove it in sections and to install the new chiller in sections.
